Mr. Koch represents businesses in civil litigation, bankruptcy,
creditors' rights, and oil and gas matters.
Notable matters handled by Mr. Koch include:
(a) obtaining a mediated settlement award of several million dollars
for an oil and gas exploration company in a case involving defective
downhole tools; (b) obtaining a take-nothing judgment defending a
manufacturer in a wrongful death trial in a multi-million dollar
products liability claim; (c) obtaining bankruptcy court rulings on
behalf of a chemical manufacturer involving preference payments;
(d) obtaining a take-nothing judgment defending an oil and gas
company from a $10 million claim relating to accounting for
production payment costs and revenues; (e) as co-counsel in an
international arbitration and related bankruptcy, obtaining a
successful arbitration award and related federal court judgment for
an international industrial manufacturer involving crane and
pipelayer technology; (f) handling a successful appeal to the Texas
Court of Appeals and the Texas Supreme Court relating to an oil
and gas dispute involving joint operating agreements and mineral title
issues; and (g) handling numerous matters on behalf of business
creditors seeking to collect debts from other businesses, including
pursuit of claims in bankruptcy court.
Mr. Koch is a member of the Houston Bar Association. He holds an
AV Rating from the Martindale-Hubbell attorney ratings agency.
